This cable adapter converts regular Corsair Type-4 cable (e.g. Corsair SF, AXi, HXi, CSM, TXM, RM) to the new Corsair Type-5 mini connector, so that you can continue using all existing Corsair Type-4 cables with the new Type-5 PSUs (e.g. Corsair SF ATX 3.1, SF-L, RMx SHIFT)
