It seems to work independent from power supply as long as it is connected to the end of the power supply specific 12VHPWR cable.

Easy purchase, easy to spend my money. Its my understanding that genuine ptm7950 has a 2 year expiry when fresh out of tye factory. The label states my expiry is December this year, so I'm guessing the stick has been sat a while. Its in the freezer with my other sheets to try preserve it for a while longer as I'm not ready to use it yet. Apart from that all went well, thanks. All the best!
